Most people don't care about bone cancer. They only care about smoking. It's important to raise awareness about how smoking can contribute to developing bone cancer.

Key ideas:

  • The study showed that the risks of Hodgkin’s lymphoma and some bone marrow cancers were doubled in women who smoked about 20 cigarettes a day.

  • Smoking is by far the most important preventable risk factor for cancer in the UK – it’s responsible for nearly a fifth of all new cancer cases and causes more than a quarter of all deaths from cancer in the UK.

How to make smoking less appealing to people and help them quit:

  • Avoid triggers

  • Chew tobacco instead of smoking

  • Work out

  • Try relaxation techniques

  • Put money in a jar that you would have spent on cigarettes and save it for travel and to buy yourself other treats
