Discrimination Against People with Down Syndrome

People in church and on the street don't teach their kids manners and their kids end up giving dirty looks to people with down syndrome. They don't understand that we have feelings just like everyone else and we are very capable and intelligent.
It's very hurtful when people call us names like idiots and imbeciles and it's not true because many of us can graduate college and university, and many of us are independent and only need a little support.
I think people with special needs can do everything neurotypical people can do, including sports, and acting, and theatre, and play writing and there are many successful people with down syndrome.
Here are examples of successful people with down syndrome:
The movie Monica and David is based on a couple who fought a lot and had down syndrome, but they learned to love each other and work through their differences.
Life Goes On actor Chris Burke was very successful in his field, as another example.
In spite of these successful people, when I go to church, kids stare at me and their parents don't tell them to stop.
We need to educate them and we should have down syndrome day any day, because we need to show the kids that what they are doing is wrong and it's called discrimination towards people with Down Syndrome.
Parents, teach your kids the right thing to do and how are they going to learn about down syndrome if you don't educate them and show them how to be kind and generous?
We are not a disease. We are just like you.
We go to church. We listen to god. We mingle and talk to people, and we would like to feel more like we're a part of the the community.
The time to change is now.
Thank you for reading.
