What to do when you feel unsupported

When people don't get you and don't understand what you're trying to do, you remind yourself that your feelings are valid. Even if people don't agree, you have the right to feel the way you do. It's OK.


If you want to talk to people who are not supporting your efforts, here are some things to remember:


  1. They might love you but their brain works differently so they don't see things the same way

  2. Follow your heart, not what other people think

  3. Ask yourself if their feedback is sometimes true and helpful

  4. They might be attacking you because they are jealous, ignorant, or not secure of themselves

  5. Be kind and assertive. Don't be afraid to disagree with them
